FRIENDS OF REED (FoR)
FoR, which stands for Friends of Reed, is the school-wide fundraising engine of Reed.
We are a registered 501(c)(3) booster club that fundraises to help provide enrichment and maintain a safe and welcoming environment for all students. FoR provides the financial support behind major campus improvement projects, as well as special 8th grade events, and non-LAUSD sponsored field trips.
What do we do?
FoR is a non-profit parent volunteer group that works collaboratively with Reed administration, PTSA, and FIHP. Though we have no official capacity to influence school policies, FoR is dedicated to the enrichment of every student at Reed MS through fundraising. The Reed Community is strong and diverse, and FoR aims to support all students with your help!
Why do we fundraise?
With the help of parent volunteers like you, we create and organize school wide fundraisers that raise money to fill the budget gap that LAUSD does not cover. Your donations help bring middle school to life through technology upgrades, grade-level field trips and so much more! In the last few years we funded new murals, put up designs on the basketball backboards, worked on a Seeds grant to beautify our Schall Park garden area, purchased new outdoor and classroom furniture, and much more!
